After emigrating to the United States on December 19, 1955, on June 1st, 1956, in Cook County Illinois, Flores (Floyd) De Jong married Roelofje (Ruth) Kuiper. Roelofje was born February 20th, 1937 in Emmer Compascuum, Netherlands and died February 4, 1990 in Gainesville, Georgia. Children from this marriage were John DeJong of Lansing, Illinois born July 26th, 1957 and twins, Margaret DeJong-Bencie of Westmont, Illinois and Michael DeJong of Jersey City, New Jersey, both born on June 12th, 1962.
Roelofje was the daughter of Pouwel Kuiper and Grietje Bos of Emmer Compascuum who emigrated to the United States on March 17th, 1954 with their children Roelofje, Grietje, Aaltje and Pouwel. (Their fifth child, Betty Ann, was born in Hammond, Indiana on June 19, 1956)
Flores trouwde met Roelofje (Ruth) Kuiper, dochter van Pouwel Kuiper en Grietje Bos. (Roelofje (Ruth) Kuiper werd geboren op 20 Feb 1937 in Emmer Compascuum en overleed op 4 Feb 1990 in Gainesville, Georgia.)
