Jansz. vermeld van 1495 -1519, gerichtsman van Eck en Maurik (1502), beleend met land onder Maurik? Hij wordt in 1495 door Karel van Gelre verschreven om als riddermatig in Tiel te compareren; eveneens te Arnhem 15 maart 1519.

Who is the father of Johan van Leeuwen?? In the Jb. CBG 1948 page 179 it is suggested that it would be Herman van Leeuwen (who died in 1494 and was married to Adriana). In the Ahnentafels of Greidanus-Jager (1994) I also encountered a series of Jans and Hermans. They carried the same coat of armes as Johan. According to the genealogist Polvliet (CBG dossier van Leeuwen; collectie Polvliet) it would be Otto who was the son of Herman (1442) and Petronella van Achoven and a grandson of Herberen van Leeuwen (1395) who was the son of Jan van Leeuwen (in 1375-1410 schepen van Kesteren). The ahnentafels of Greidanus-Jager published in Gens nostra in the eighties also mention Herman (married to Petronella) and his ancestors, but in the 1994 edition of these ahnentafels they are not mentioned anymore. Did the opinion about ancestry change??
